The value that Covey brings to the community is multifold. Imagine if every individual who has a disability was never able to achieve any kind of independence. Imagine if their families were their only caregivers. The effect would be a major toll felt by everyone in the community.

Covey creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We do this through volunteering, interactive skill building courses; and our unique respite care is truly top-notch. With confidence and real-life skills, many Covey clients are able to become employed and give back to the community, whether this be through purchasing goods and services, volunteering, or participating in social events. And for those unable to be employed, our 24/7 customized care allows their family members to earn a living outside of caregiving.

I became involved with Covey through a friend and former board president who asked me if I’d like to participate in the iCan Bike camp. One week volunteering for this program and I was hooked. I always call that my “gotcha” moment.
