FAQ: Covey’s iCan Shine Bike Camp
Our annual iCan Shine Bike Camp is just a few weeks away! We’re ready to gear up for this year’s camp from August 25th through August 29th. Covey is proud to host a fun-filled couple of days where participants learn how to bike, strengthen their skills, and feel empowered with newfound independence. When and where is camp?
Covey’s iCan Shine Bike Camp takes place towards the end of the summer each year. This year, camp is is happening at the end of August, just outside of Oshkosh:

What is iCan Shine?
iCan Shine is an international nonprofit organization that provides learning and recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Through their bike, swim, and dance camps, they allow every individual to shine! iCan Shine camps focus on the “iCan” mentality—motivating participants through positive encouragement and guided assistance in a fun environment. What can I expect at camp?
At camp, you can expect an encouraging environment filled with positivity, accomplishment, and opportunities for growth! Over the course of five days, participants will learn how to ride a bike with the assistance of our volunteers, staff, and adaptive bikes. The goal is for riders to be able to ride a 2-wheel bicycle independently by the end of day 5!
For many participants, this camp is a life-changing experience. Biking independently has been shown to increase focus, boost self-confidence, and enjoy the freedom of exploring in the outdoors! iCan Shine and Covey join forces to help participants reach milestones, one pedal at a time.
How can I participate?
Covey’s iCan Shine Bike Camp is a fun and engaging camp for all! Participants with disabilities ages 8 and up are welcome to attend. Individuals ages 15 and up are welcome to volunteer to make a meaningful impact through assisting camp riders.
